NewFO 2012

There's a new challenge in town . . . the 2012 NewFO Challenge.  Sent out by Barbara, over at Cat Patches, the challenge is to create -- that's right, CREATE -- UFO's for 2013, by trying out new blocks, new projects, new techniques in 2012.

Here's my current NewFO list for 2012:

1) A tee-shirt quilt (this one will be for my niece).
2) A rag quilt.  I fell in love with this quilt after seeing one a friend made.  I so would love to make one!
3) A faux applique quilt (I have all the required materials/tools -- just need to get in motion).
4) I want to do something with photos printed on fabric.  Perhaps a fabric printed photo with a quilted frame.  Or maybe something like this, which I designed in EQ:
5) I'd like to do a piece that's artsy (which I could combine with number 4, above)!

6) I have a darling pattern for a quilted football I'd love to make in my favorite team colors! And I'd really like to make several of them to giveaway to all the football fans in my life (and maybe a grandson, too)!
7) Sometime over the last couple of years, I got an idea for a quilt block based on a tile pattern.  Friends of mine were putting up new backsplash tile and the pattern was fascinating to me ... enough so that I spent hours in fabcad and then EQ working up the block.  I want to do a little something using this pattern.
8-12+) I want to design a table topper (preferably in EQ) like my Candy Corn and Holly Jolly Toppers, so I have a different one for every month. This would be about nine different quilted toppers I'd need to create!

I'll update throughout the year -- both crossing off my list the projects I've tried *and* hopefully uploading pics to share, too!
