quilter's meet and greet . . .

Greetings on this happy Tuesday morning!

My heart/mind are in California this morning ... today is my son's 31st birthday (how can I have a 31 year old?!?) ... and I totally forgot I needed to have a meet & greet post!  LOL!

So, my name is Denise and it's my pleasure to meet you! I've been quilting since January of 2006, but sewing for as long as I can remember; and had the pleasure of growing up with a mom who enjoyed sewing clothes for me and passed that love on down.

My first finish (mind you, not my first start) was an original I created for a sweet horse-loving young friend:

I like to play with many techniques: traditional . . .
Art . . .
Applique . . .
Hexies . . .
Wool (and crazy quilting) . . .
Embroidery . . .
And pumpkins.  Have I mentioned I like pumpkins?? And my favorite color is purple, but you'd never know it from my projects!  {grin}

Chances are pretty good I've got multiple projects going on at any one time . . .
My tastes in pretty much *everything* are eclectic! But I do adore handwork most of all.

I also love to read, cook and bake, tea parties, craft, color, listen to music, watch movies, hit the lake in our pontoon, and especially I love grandchildren -- all seven of them! (Everett, born to heaven in 2011, is represented in the picture above our group.)
Plus I adore my husband, who's a terrific partner, a godly man, and loves me more than I deserve!

One more of the grands ... cuz I can (I mean RIGHT??!) . . .
The three on the left are my California kids . . .and the two on the right and the one in my lap are local.  Praise the Lord that some stayed local!

We are fulltime RVers, and live in our 5th wheel (click HERE to check out our set-up and my quilting space) as camp hosts for Camp MACOBA.
The setting is serene and gorgeous, and I'm incredibly blessed.

Enough about me ... or if it isn't, feel free to browse around the blog! There's only so much one can learn about another in a single post . . . once you've had your fill, though, make sure you click through to register for the great prizes being offered . . .
Register for prizes!
And don't miss out on meeting all the other great quilters out there!
Meet & Greet
And thank you Benita, of Creative Space,  for setting this up!

Happy Tuesday -- happy stitching!

:)

It's really nice to read your post, Denise. I've been following you but it's so easy just to read content and not think about the person behind the blog. We have lots of the same 'loves' though RVing doesn't fit - I'm mostly a homebody - plus we have 10 grands!

I'm in love with your little nook space. It's just adorable and a perfect place to get away. Such fun quilty projects too. I must admit...I'm just a tad bit jealous over all those "grands". LOL!!
Your one lucky girl!

I have a 39 and a 41 year old, so just wait. I had local grandkids. I live in OK now two live in NM and two in AR. I do see the AR kids almost every two weeks as the boy sees his mom here on that schedule. I don't think that will last long though. They are talking of moving here -- Yeah! My son has been lots for two weeks as his dad is having his pelvis rebuilt and a hip replacement due to messing it up due to a fall from a seizure apparently. I love your quilting and you are amazing and due beautiful work. How I miss the lake. I haven't quilted since my second husband died five years ago. I just lost my desire and was just ready when all this drama hit. I just knew I had to step back in to support my children and bury the hatchet. Bless you and your entire family and all thing quilty.

Oh my goodness, you are so versatile in your quilty endeavors. You have a little bit of everything - traditional, modern, hexies, embroidery and even art quilts. I feel so one-dimensional in comparison. The family pictures are the best part of this post - everyone is having fun. I mean EVERYONE. Big smiles, big eyes and the cutest expressions. A very happy birthday to the handsome young man in California. So nice to met you Denise. I am sure we will see each other around in the blogland.

You are a marvel quilting in a Nook, living in a RV, and having some grandies close by. Ours are about 4 hours North of us. But with emails, and Facetime, can keep in touch so easily these days. Love the quilt on your bed, lovely and bright, and yes, a delight when all the seams line up perfectly. Happy quilting.
