quilter's meet and greet . . .

Greetings on this happy Tuesday morning!

My heart/mind are in California this morning ... today is my son's 31st birthday (how can I have a 31 year old?!?) ... and I totally forgot I needed to have a meet & greet post!  LOL!

So, my name is Denise and it's my pleasure to meet you! I've been quilting since January of 2006, but sewing for as long as I can remember; and had the pleasure of growing up with a mom who enjoyed sewing clothes for me and passed that love on down.

My first finish (mind you, not my first start) was an original I created for a sweet horse-loving young friend:

I like to play with many techniques: traditional . . .
Art . . .
Applique . . .
Hexies . . .
Wool (and crazy quilting) . . .
Embroidery . . .
And pumpkins.  Have I mentioned I like pumpkins?? And my favorite color is purple, but you'd never know it from my projects!  {grin}

Chances are pretty good I've got multiple projects going on at any one time . . .
My tastes in pretty much *everything* are eclectic! But I do adore handwork most of all.

I also love to read, cook and bake, tea parties, craft, color, listen to music, watch movies, hit the lake in our pontoon, and especially I love grandchildren -- all seven of them! (Everett, born to heaven in 2011, is represented in the picture above our group.)
Plus I adore my husband, who's a terrific partner, a godly man, and loves me more than I deserve!

One more of the grands ... cuz I can (I mean RIGHT??!) . . .
The three on the left are my California kids . . .and the two on the right and the one in my lap are local.  Praise the Lord that some stayed local!

We are fulltime RVers, and live in our 5th wheel (click HERE to check out our set-up and my quilting space) as camp hosts for Camp MACOBA.
The setting is serene and gorgeous, and I'm incredibly blessed.

Enough about me ... or if it isn't, feel free to browse around the blog! There's only so much one can learn about another in a single post . . . once you've had your fill, though, make sure you click through to register for the great prizes being offered . . .
Register for prizes!
And don't miss out on meeting all the other great quilters out there!
Meet & Greet
And thank you Benita, of Creative Space,  for setting this up!

Happy Tuesday -- happy stitching!
