It has been a busy month, which makes me feel a little justified in the huge gap between my last post and this one. Of course, this is the (so called) blogger who skipped out on blogging from December 2017 through May 2018. What's 26 days?!? LOL!
But I realized I need to get on in here and plug the upcoming blog hop I'm participating in! I'm so excited . . . and if you know me at all, when you see what it is, you'll know why!
It's the Pick a Pumpkin Blog Hop! It kicks off on Monday, November 5, and goes through the 8th. My day is Wednesday the 7th. I've been playing around with several different pumpkin projects and here's a little sneaky peaky of one that just might make the cut . . .
Why have I never thought of combining my favorite autumnal fruit with my favorite color??! It's so pumpkiny perfect!
Speaking of pumpkins, the California crew hit the pumpkin patch last week, and I got some sweet photos of the trio . . .
Sawyer is so handsome!
Lovely June is growing up fast; she turns SIX on Wednesday!
Sweet Olivia is growing up fast, too!
Gosh I miss them so much -- they are so precious! I'm so grateful that their mommy and daddy are so good about sharing photos and life commentary and making time for phone calls and face time!
I missed sharing about my birthday fun. Our deck was finished and we strung lights around the railing and got some pretty chairs . . .
Of course, it feels like it's rained through all my opportunities to sit outside!
The girls were supposed to be at the beach on my birthday, but Hurricane Michael thwarted their plans, so they came and visited me, instead! Lucky Neesey! Then, the next week (after our big annual meeting), we spent a morning at the Botanical Gardens.
They really enjoy spending time in the gardens, and so do I! You can see we're dressed for cooler weather -- fall finally arrived! But it's just been in the last week that we've had some overnight temps dipping just into the upper 30's. It's been a very GREEN fall so far. Today, for the first time, I noticed the first hint of color in the canopy coming into the camp . . .
Not nearly what we're used to this time of year. Compare the above picture, to this one, taken at the same time in 2009:
BIG difference!
Our guild's first mug rug swap went over very well. We had 22 ladies participate, which is pretty good for a first time.
There were so many darling contributions, I think our numbers will go up in the December mug rug swap, which will be Christmas/winter themed. I'm already working on mine!
I'll share what I'm working on right now (in addition to my pumpkin secrets) . . .
The girls are going to be Flora, Fauna, and Meriweather, the three fairy godmothers from Sleeping Beauty! Joc ordered the costumes but still needed their hats . . . enter Neesey. :) I did a prototype hat to test my pattern and make adjustments, then got Ellie's pink hat done. Two more to go. They do family themed Trick or Treating so Jason will be Prince Valiant and Joc is going as Maleficent. I can't wait to share photos!
What I have *not* been working on is these . . .
But that ends this weekend. Gotta start whipping these bad boys together! That being said, you'll find me linked up with the Slow Sunday Stitching post at Kathy's Quilts!
Have a GREAT Sunday!
:)
