a girl can change her mind . . .

Right??

I had originally planned on using this leftover piece of fabric . . .
(purchased and used originally for the table runner down there somewhere:)
on the back of my mini harvest banner.  But it's *such* a lovely piece of fabric, I couldn't bear to put it on the back of something . . . so instead, I used it here:
A girl can never have too many aprons, can she?  Plus it'll be perfect for cooking/serving Thanksgiving dinner!

I was pleased I'd used a yard (for the apron and then again for the new backing and binding on the mini-harvest piece).  Here's the stash report I'll be linking up to Patchwork Times:
Ah, yes . . . you noticed I also added two yards, didn't you?  That would be from this sweet sampling of sparkling, frosty blues that my sweet friend Janet, of rogue quilter, sent my way!!
Isn't it pretty?  And totally me! I've already used some of it.
In a manner of speaking, anyway.  We celebrated June's 2nd birthday yesterday, and the snowflake piece was perfect under her birthday cake!  (Can you guess what the theme was??!!)

I also went ahead, based on many of your comments, purchased the cardstock pieces for the POTC blocks.
This will be my slow stitching today!  Whoohoo!!  I can't wait to see this block come 'alive'!

On a final and very proud note, I'd like to introduce my nephew, Nick:
Who graduated on Friday from United States Marine Corps boot camp!  Very proud of this handsome young man -- OOHRAH!

happy baby . . .

Praise God, he's a happy baby here . . .

But do you see the little red bump on his head? Evidently my darling, precocious grandson is already trying to pull himself out of his crib. Talk about this grandma's nightmare!

He'd been down for his morning nap and all was quiet . . . and then I heard a bang, followed by the kind of wailing that lets you know something's really wrong. I sprinted for his bedroom, and sure enough there he was, out of the crib and on the floor. We cried together for a little bit. Then he stopped, and I continued to cry for a little bit.

I do love smiles around the pacifier!

After a good lunch, a bottle, and a bath, I put him down for his afternoon nap. Do you know he went straight for the bumper pads and pulled himself up to standing...AGAIN?!? Of course this time measures had been taken to ensure he wasn't going anywhere. Still -- evidently the fall wasn't a painful enough experience to keep him from trying again! I see lots of boo-boo's in this boy's future!

But look at my little angel here, all wrapped up in his quilt. I think I probably teared up a little when I was looking at him here, too. :)

The rest of day went well, although I do admit, I felt compelled to hold and cuddle him as much as he would let me!

He's such a happy fellow -- he charms my socks off!

And he's a boot-scootin' baby, too! He's not bothering with his knees, but his arms are so strong, he can get where he wants to, faster than you can blink! See my evidence . . .

Gosh I LOVE him! And yes, that's my maniacal laughter at the end. Sheesh.

Ah, and I have a grandbaby-on-the-way item, too! Joc had an appointment yesterday and said everything is looking GREAT! She sounded really pleased with how things had gone. She really likes her doctor and that makes *me* happy!

And on a non-grandbaby note, I came home last night and these wonderful things were waiting for me . . .

Tea towels!! Aren't they pretty?! Oh the plans I have for them . . . !!

Happy day!

yay for fridays!

I've got lots to share, but not really the time to do it today. So it'll wait!

In the meantime, I know I've mentioned that I wanted to make a bunch of the darling aprons that were featured on Prairie Moon Quilt's blog (click HERE to see her tutorial for yourself). So I've been trying to find cute outlines that will kind of fit into the themes I'm wanting to do. Just been playing around and came up with . . .

I loved the little seahorse - anyway, I thought it was cute!

Attended my first guild meeting last night, since ... July? Wow! Last night was our bi-annual auction. And even though I've been a member of our guild for several years, it was the first auction I've been to. It was *lots* of fun! There was a lot of stuff . . . a LOT of stuff . . . and sometimes bidding got a little (how can I say this delicately?) . . . CRAZY! :)

I came away with some terrific buys -- a lot of really fun Christmas fabric, and some tea fabrics, and a LOT of quilting stencils! It was a happy night, and it was fun to hang out with the guild gals again!

I'll wrap this up with a few photos of one of my most favorite things . . .

So serious!

So studious!

So bonhomous!

So curious! And darling, darling, darling!

He makes my heart smile.
