leafs me breathless . . .

Welcome, welcome, welcome -- I'm so happy you're here today!

The moment I first saw the "Leafs Me Happy" button, I *knew* this was a hop for me!  I'm not just a fall person (or a pumpkin person, for that matter), but I'm also very much a LEAF person!!

Leaves have been a part of my projects for ages.  From blocks . . .

To table toppers . . .

To old Cherokee leaf pounding techniques . . .

Plain and simple?

Living out here at Camp MACOBA in the middle of 110 acres of woods means I sure do get my fill of the gorgeous fall foliage . . .
I mean c'mon ... this is the stuff poetry is written of -- and the more color, the better!

Inspired by the September doll quilt over at A Sentimental Quilter, I went into EQ and chose the closest thing I could find to Kathy's Doves in the Window.   The block I found was called Premium Star and I enlarged it just a tad.  The big empty space was screaming for something *leafy* so I found some fun leaf coloring pages and added some stitchery.  What I ended up with were these pretty little blocks . . .
Oh Canada! Leaf
Oak Leaf Forest
Leaf Me Some Maple Syrup and Plainly a Leaf

Put 'em together with a darling fall print, some glittery quilting, a plaid binding and voila!
October's Leaf Party!

And do you know?  It's not *just* the last day of the Leafs Me Happy hop . . . it's also my birthday.  And not just *any* birthday.  Today I turn . . .
Whoohooo!!!  Light the fireworks!  Strike up the band!!  Where's my parade?!?! Bring in the cake and ice cream and PRESENTS!!

Or how about this?  How about I do a little giving today ... a little Leafs Me--Happy--Birthday to Me love??
Some sweet little charm packs (both sporting leaves, I might add), my favorite magazine, Celebrate, all decked out for autumn, a sweet little jar of some pumpkin spice tea . . . and who knows what else will make it's way into the box before it's all said and done??!!

Wanna chance?  Be a follower and leave a single comment telling my your favorite way to decorate for fall!!  Make sure I have some way of getting in touch with you if you're the winner.  That's it -- easy-peasy!  Personally, I'll celebrate my birthday the whole month of October ... but I'll close the giveaway at midnight on Saturday the 20th and announce a winner on Monday the 22nd!!

In the meantime . . . be sure to visit the rest of the fabulous blogs lined up for this final day of the hop!

Wednesday 10

And a rousing cheer for Cherry and Madame Samm who've done a *marvelous* job with this happy hop!  Thanks so much, y'all!!

Happy birthday. Your leaf blocks and finished quilt are so cute. I don't particularly decorate for fall but the garden does it all for me especially the Virginia creeper that at present has leaves on it from shades of green, to yellow and deep red.

I'm not much of a decorator. I do have a wooden house frame that my dad made and I have made some monthly Sunbonnet Sue mini wall hangings that I hang inside. I also have a wooden welcome sign that holds a small wooden emblem for each month that I change out. I like candles and fragrance liquids, so I burn seasonal scents to make my home smell wonderful.

I love your fall pictures. They are absolutely beautiful!

Happy Birthday! :)

Belated birthday well wishes to you & may the light of the, lord shine on you always.
p.s. thank you for hte input on the ornaments. they are already done & glittered up I felt the same as you, a bit torn between the two & yes, some of the depth is lost with the glitter but it makes them look so festive & the glitter will look great on a tree with lights so...they all got sprinkled with some 'frost'.
Hugs!

I've decorated my cubicle at work with a very realistic foam headstone from Target to show how buried I am.

At home I have my pumpkin picked out (but not carved) and some fall wallhangings.

Missed your birthday, but I hope it was a good one! My birthday is in September, and last year, when I turned 40, I celebrated all month, too! I'm a pretty lazy decorator, but I do love to put out pumpkins in the fall.

Happy birthday late! I have gotten lazy in decorating for the holidays, I guess it's because I don't have kids, however I like to decorate my table for Thanksgiving!

I don't decorate much. But I have a fall tradition. I make popcorn and hot cocoa. Then I watch the Wizard of Oz. I remember as a child it was always on in the fall and mom would do the popcorn and hot cocoa for us 5 kids. Now I can just pop in the dvd. If my grown children are around, they enjoy doing it also.

I'm your newest follower! I think it's so interesting how we all seem to find a theme in a lot of our quilts - yours is leaves and mine is scraps! Love it! Happy birthday.

So many cute leaves! I love to decorate for Fall not necessarily Halloween, that way it lasts through Thanksgiving. Of course the kids would be content with a complete Haunted House, haahaa. I am a firm believer in no Christmas decs until after Turkey Day! Happy Belated birthday, too! It looks like you are having a grand time with your family, enjoy every moment :0)

Your leaves are so beautiful -- just like the views outside of your home. Also, Happy Belated Birthday. I'm just catching up on some blogging. I am following you around through the woods to get a chance for your leaves giveaway. Thanks much for sharing with us.

Well I'm glad that you are still celebrating - who says birthday's must only be celebrated for 24 hours? So since, I'm late in posting on your Birthday Post - I think that extra celebrating is in order! Happy Belated Birthday! Your photos are stunning! Other people travel across the entire country to see colors like that and here God has placed it right at your doorstep! Glorious! I think God must love Fall too! :) Your pretty leaf blocks made a darling project! Around here, Fall means weaning and shipping calves and lots of spurs jingling. It's one of my favorite things about the season. And of course, baked apples, and Oompa Loompa Bread, and leaf shaped sugar cookies are always on the list!
