pumpkin filling . . .

If you're looking for my fun fall giveaway, it's right HERE. :)

Yesterday I got to do one of my favorite things . . . put out my fall decorations! I really do enjoy pulling out my pumpkins and acorns and squirrels and little bits and pieces of autumn and letting them spill into my living area. Since we moved to the RV, of course, I simplified what I decorated with. But I know I can always add a knick knack or two if I find I need a 'new' look, or I can CRAFT something new . . . !

Yesterday I had everything in its place ... except this pumpkin.

It's a great little pumpkin. It came to me in 2009 holding a bouquet of flowers. Gosh, they got delivered to me at work and everything -- and it wasn't even for my birthday! I posted about it HERE. Anyway, this year I knew I'd like to put it out, but I'm not willing to do fresh flowers for it (mostly because I won't be out and about too much and able to pick and choose the flowers I'd keep in it). It's a really nifty piece, with a nice, sturdy easel-like stand in the lid, so you can have your pumpkin top and leave it opened, too.

But I can't (won't) really leave it sitting on my table looking like the above. So I had an idea. A CRAFTING idea! I know you might be tempted into thinking I'd used all my fabulous creativity on that darling little Tosey Cozey from Tuesday, but I still had an ounce of craftiness running through my veins . . .

And will a little help from Jocelyn (who willingly sacrificed her time and wallet by going into Hobby Lobby for me), some felt, and some fun buttons, I created a BUNCH of felt flowers!

I hot glued them onto wire stems, inserted them into my newspaper-stuffed pumpkin vase, and voila . . .

And the best thing is that I won't have to keep them watered!

I'm feeling a tad unstoppable now . . . !!

You are just too cool crafty for me lately. Maybe I'm just a little jealous of your time to craft? Not that I envy your need to stay off the feet with toes over nose ;) The flowers are adorable and sew is the candy corn table topper. Happy long weekend!

What a great idea! I really love that candy cane center piece! Did you make each piece separately, would love to see the center of it.
